Airport taxis charge 3-4 times the normal price.
Tip :Use Pathao or negotiate firmly (normal price to Thamel: ~4 EUR).
Practical tips
- The Kathmandu-Lukla flight for the Everest trek is spectacular but prone to weather cancellations.
- Book a tourist bus rather than a local bus — the difference in comfort is huge.
- Mountain roads are winding and slow — allow extra time.
