Local transport
Bus
Local buses between the islands are unreliable. Air-conditioned minivans between Bali's towns. Trans-Java by bus is possible but very long.
Train
Network only on Java. Argo and Eksekutif trains are very decent. Jakarta-Yogyakarta in 7h (~EUR 15-25).
Taxi
Bluebird is reliable and metered in Bali and Jakarta. Elsewhere, haggling is a must.
