Very cheap, frequent intercity buses (Green Line, Shohagh, Hanif). Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes.
Train
National network from Kamalapur station (Dhaka). Comfortable and scenic to Chittagong, Sylhet and Khulna. Book in AC class.
Taxi
Few real taxis. CNG (green gas-powered auto-rickshaws) and cycle rickshaws dominate. Negotiate the fare before getting in, no meter.
Metro
Dhaka metro (MRT Line 6) in service, modern and air-conditioned, eases the traffic a bit.
