A popular destination for solo female travelers. Standard caution in nightlife areas at night. Massages and spas are generally safe and well run.

LGBTQ+ travelers

Thailand is generally tolerant. The LGBTQ+ community is visible in Bangkok and on the tourist islands. The laws do not criminalize homosexuality.
