Drinking water
Tap water drinkable throughout the country.
Mosquitoes
Present in summer near lakes and forests, no tropical diseases; watch out for ticks in wooded areas.
General notes
Decent healthcare. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid. Plenty of pharmacies (apteka).
Women travelers
Very safe, including for solo female travel. Standard vigilance at night in party districts.
LGBTQ+ travelers
Legally safe but a more conservative society than in the West; discretion advised outside the big cities. Warsaw and Kraków are more open and have an LGBTQ+ scene.
