Overall safe for women travelers; respectful welcome during the day. Extra caution in the evening in bars (cases of harassment and spiking reported), a society still fairly traditional.
LGBTQ+ travelers
Homosexuality legal but a very conservative and hostile society; avoid displays of affection in public. Discretion advised, even in Tbilisi where the scene exists but stays discreet.
