Drinking water
Do not drink tap water. Beware of ice cubes.

General notes
Cairo's private clinics are of good standard. The extreme summer heat requires constant hydration.
Women travelers
Street harassment is a real problem in Egypt. Travelling with a companion or in a group greatly reduces incidents. Covering clothing is strongly recommended.
LGBTQ+ travelers
Although not explicitly illegal, homosexuality is prosecuted under "debauchery" laws. Discretion is essential.
