April-May and September-October: bearable heat and clear skies. Summer (June-August) is scorching in the Karakum Desert, with peaks of 45-50°C. Winter is short but cold.

Se deplacer

Voyage très réglementé : un visa touristique exige une lettre d'invitation (LOI) via une agence agréée, et un guide accompagnateur est de fait obligatoire pour la majorité des circuits. On se déplace en 4x4 avec chauffeur, taxis partagés et vols intérieurs de Turkmenistan Airlines vers Mary ou Dashoguz.

Securite

Street crime nearly nonexistent: the country is heavily surveilled and safe for travelers. The real constraints are political and administrative — surveillance, off-limits zones, regulated photography and a closed authoritarian regime.
