Etiquette
Hospitality is sacred: accept the milk tea and airag offered, even just a sip
Receive and give objects (bowl, gift) with the right hand, or with both hands
Never bluntly refuse a dish from nomads: tasting is a sign of respect
Don't step on the threshold of a yurt or point your feet at the hearth or altar
Regime
Very meat-heavy cuisine: being vegetarian is a real challenge outside Ulaanbaatar
The capital has several vegetarian and international restaurants (Indian, Korean)
On the steppe, fall back on dairy, bread, vegetables and meat-free noodles on request
