Conseils argent

Cash vs Carte

Card accepted almost everywhere, even for small amounts. Keep a bit of cash for markets and mountain refuges.

Pourboires

Not mandatory, round up or leave 5-10% if the service was good

DAB / Distributeurs

ATMs everywhere, free with a eurozone card. Avoid the high-fee Euronet ones.

Astuces

  • The menu of the day (dnevno kosilo) at the gostilne costs 8-12 EUR for a full meal
  • Shopping at Mercator, Spar or Hofer (Aldi) works out much cheaper than eating out
  • Tap water is excellent everywhere: no need to buy bottled water

Devise : Euro (EUR)

  • Eurozone - no currency exchange needed

Arnaques courantes

  • Few scams: Slovenia is one of the safest countries in Europe
  • A few very touristy restaurants around Lake Bled inflate their prices
