Plenty of ATMs on the coast and in Podgorica. Many charge 3-5 EUR in fixed fees; favour the ATMs of major banks and decline the automatic conversion (DCC).

- •Montenegro uses the euro without being a eurozone member: no currency exchange needed for a traveler coming from France.
- •A tourist tax of about 1 EUR per adult per night is added to the displayed accommodation price.
- •Eating in the local konoba (taverns) rather than on the seafronts of Budva or Kotor halves the bill.
- •Traveling in June or September rather than July-August drops accommodation prices by 20 to 40%.
