Cash vs Carte
Cash (lari) dominates outside the big cities. Cards work well in Tbilisi and Batumi, but always have lari for marshrutkas, markets and country taverns.
Pourboires
Not required, round up or leave 5-10%; many restaurants already add 10-18% service (check the bill)
DAB / Distributeurs
Plenty of ATMs in the cities (TBC, Bank of Georgia). Frequent withdrawal fees (2-6 EUR): withdraw large sums at once and refuse the automatic conversion (DCC).

- •Marshrutkas (shared minibuses) link the cities for 2-8 EUR, unbeatable versus a taxi

- •Staying with locals (guesthouse) often includes a hearty breakfast for 15-25 EUR a night

- •Change at the exchange offices in central Tbilisi (Rustaveli Street, Agmashenebeli), fair rates with no commission
- •Euros and dollars exchange very well; keep small clean bills
- •Avoid exchanging at the airport, the rates are markedly worse
