- •Riyadh's metro (fully open since January 2025) is unbeatable: 4 SAR for the 2h pass, 40 SAR for 7 days, versus 15-25 SAR for an Uber ride
- •SAPTCO long-distance buses (SAT brand) link the big cities for a fraction of the flight price: Riyadh-Jeddah around 207 SAR
- •Un plein de manger local (kabsa, mandi, shawarma) coute 15-30 SAR, bien moins que les restaurants d'hotel
- •AlUla is pricey: site admission (Hegra) and the mandatory shuttles drive the budget up; book experiences in advance on experiencealula.com
- •No alcohol in the entire country: the 'drinks' line of the Western budget vanishes completely

- •The riyal is pegged to the dollar (3.75 SAR to 1 USD since 1986), so very stable: 1 SAR is worth about 0.23 EUR
- •Change in town at the exchange offices (Al Rajhi, Enjaz) rather than at the airport
- •Withdrawing straight from the ATM often gives the best rate

- ⚠Street taxi drivers without meters who inflate the price: favour Uber, Careem or Jeeny with upfront pricing
- ⚠Fake guides around the heritage sites offering paid 'special' access
